Her privileges have given her an easy, very comfortable life. She hasn't had to worry about anything save for what her family get up to. And we all have that problem. As I said earlier, she has made a good fist of being Queen but some of the superlatives aimed her way are a tad OTT, in my very humble opinion, of course. Why is she still boxing on at 93? A sense of duty, perhaps? To keep Charles off the throne? Because she is reluctant to give up the title of 'Queen' and become 'Queen Mother'? Who knows.
Bit pedantic, perhaps, but a declaration is not a promise. And her declaration does not have to mean that she clings on to the crown and sceptre until she can cling no more. She could have abdicated at any time and still devoted much of her life to serving the nation. There has to be a more compelling reason than what she uttered on her 21st.
