Bush - Negotiating a Door

Was I the only one to see President Bush trying to get out of a door on Sunday nights news whist on his visit in China, it was the funniest thing I had seen in a long time. Seeing him rallying up the Olympic hopeful cycling team was funny enough, but the door incident had to be a classic TV moment.

No. Missed it, but I shall now be glued to the news channels. Could it be that the doors were marked push or pull, and not some very long meaningless word?

I think you are all being a bit hard on the guy, after all when you spend all day following a script with instructions on what to do like -
1a. Breath in 1b. Breath out
2a. Open mouth 2b. talk etc.... etc....
and you leave your script on the podium by mistake you just got to expect a few mishaps with things like doors !!

Sorry to be bumfaced, but...

I've no love for Bush whatsoever, but it was an entirely reasonable 'error'.

Pulls door, doesn't work
Pushes door, doesn't work
Pulls other door, doesn't work
Pushes other door, doesn't work

So, er, he tried four entirely logical actions to open a door that wouldn't open regardless of who tried it. I bet we've all done similar things.
