When it’s laid out like this, it seems pretty shocking.

What do you think the reasons are?

"that is the not-to-be-missed opportunity to take offence by proxy." I'm not sure that noting a obvious bias in reporting is taking offence on someones behalf. Just because I notice the sky is blue doesn't mean that I'm suddenly taking offence. An observation is exactly that and only that, Naomi. I think you need a sit down, you can't understand the point...

Yes Apc, I remember in days long gone when smocks and maternity trousers with adjustable waistbands and elasticated panels were worn.
Much more comfortable than skin tight dresses.
As abdicators Harry & Megs have lost the stardust but gained papparazzi. They have made themselves global pariahs like Edward & Wallis.

You’re completely correct about the dress.

Apparently the Duchess overstepped the Mark...by wearing dark nail polish.

I didn’t even realise that was a thing.

So that doesn’t fit in with my narrative - but don’t the other examples?

Did you see the story about avocados!
Ha ha Pasta. I was very slender with a very huge rugby ball bump and didn't put weight on anywhere else except the front. I probably felt I had to give it extra support by hold in on to it.
There was a story where Meghan's dress was considered too short and not "Royal Protocol".
Good answer at 10:28.
I think Megan has tried her best to fit in with the royals and royal protocol and has basically given up and doesn't much care any more. i dont think she antipated what a difference it would make to her life. Kate is basically a well bred English rose from a wealthy family who got the upbringing that fits in with her position.

Thank you all. Some very interesting answers!
//Did you see the story about avocados! //

I can see something about William having given Catherine an avocado to help overcome morning sickness and someone banging on about avocados fuelling drought but that's it. Is there more?

What other examples?
I wouldn't believe Twitter if it told me the day of the week had a 'Y' in it.

Twitter is a pointless platform for pointless people to air their pointless nonsense to other pointless people, giving them an utterly undeserved sense of importance and relevance in the world.

This is another shining example.
Andy that is a load of crap. Twitter is amazing for live reporting.

One example twitter was amazing was the london bridge attacks. Live reports with pics and vids what more could a platform do.
SP, I agree Brexit has been done to death, let's just wait and see - one prediction is best times ever (better than the dear Empire) and another a royal mess.

I don't know if you have seen this

In any situation where one is the newcomer I think that one is expected to integrate gradually, but when they were on stage as the 'fab four' shortly after their engagement or marriage she dominated the conversation, it was all about what she thought. That's the kind of behaviour that puts people's backs up, whoever you are. The expectation seems to be that the RF and indeed the country should agree with what she wants, thinks otherwise the 'r' word is trotted out. When she was barely pregnant she constantly did stupid gestures, hand above, hand below the non-existant bump, all she didn't do is wear a t-short with some 'funny' slogan on it.

Giving a platform to a majority who have no cogent thoughts or intelligence is not really defended by the occasional shining example of goodness.

You can find a positive in anything if you look hard enough, and in the case of Twitter, you need a microscope and about a century of time!

Accept that there are rolling new channels staffed by professional journalists who will do the job better than any passer by with a phone.
//The interview with Tom Bradbury ,moist eyes, pitiful look .Didn't ring true for me//
It was as genuine as Diana's Panorama tour de force which looked to be sponsored by the mascara insustry.

The only way any of us get to see images of the Royals, and 'hear what they think' is via the media, and as this example shows, the media is able to make any individual appear as a saint or a demon, depending how they slant things.

I know - Tom always is a bit of a drama queen!!
"Accept that there are rolling new channels staffed by professional journalists who will do the job better than any passer by with a phone."

It's awkward because you're assuming that these professional journalists don't use twitter. They do.
I'm not being a twitter supporter here but to just tarnish it full of morons who can't think is a bit obnoxious and also false.
