Apart from that - why was there no-one i/c to protect a heritage site? If we so much as dig a hole anywhere around our 11th C. church we have to have an accredited archaeologist/preservation expert on site. I would question the probity of the contract, personally.

The planning office strongly denied that it was all due to allowing cowboy builders to work close to a National Monument.
