Wouldn't stop me. Someone has to pack them, and better prisoners are kept busy.
Haven't eaten Quaker Porridge Oats for ages. Don't ever remember eating Tesco Christmas Cards. But I would have faith that the companies would change their ways now that it's known, before I try either.
I havent clicked on the links, sorry avoiding unwanted click associated ads, but yes it does put me off buying certain products if I know they have been made or packed abroad.

i'm less worried about them being packed by prisoners, but I dont see why we need porridge or christmas cards from China.
What would the prisoners prefer to do?
PepsiCo say they are disputing and investigating these claims.

Unfortunately it probably costs a lot less to pack in China and ship from there, than to do it in the UK.
Nothing wrong with prisoners who are legitimately imprisoned doing work, however they should be treated fairly and that includes a decent diet.

My father always had Quaker Oats for breakfast. I just buy the supermarket unbranded ones. Dunno where they come from.
not sure what the issue is, prisoners do work, shocker!
Or maybe it was Scots Porridge Oats?
Yes and no.
Seems apt while they're doing their porridge.
Will porridge now appear on the local Chinese takeaway menu? Porridge and black bean sauce......yuck. Rather have a no69.
Naughty step Togo.
It's not funny. They have to use chopsticks.
Yeah but the chopsticks are fashioned out of 'shivvies'.
If it's true, then fine. I don't see a problem.
A couple of issues. I think the implication is that (some of) the prisoners are unjustly confined and the work they are made to do is excessive.

Also if the oats are grown in the USA, transported to China for packing then sent to the UK for sale that seems like a helluva carbon footprint.
