No hard feelings then?
Boris has to approve I presume?
When you get nominated by your opposition you know you are in opposition of your own party.
Andrew Marr just said the House of Lords may move north to York or Birmingham.

Ha ha Bercow won't like to com up t'north.
Moving the HoL out of London would kill it off for sure. They wouldn't come out of their bubble even for £300 a day. Blackpool would be good location I think!
Imagine the menu?
Tripe and onions, black pudding, chips, more chips, and curry and chips.

What we have here folks, is a Communist, who poses as a Labour politician, nominating a Conservative, to a title & seat in the House of Lords, an institution which he would dearly like to see abolished !
Corbyn maybe desperate to leave a legacy, any legacy.
When someone like Corbyn nominates the ‘going out’ speaker, it shows that the Speaker in question was anything but neutral in his role
Good.
In gratitude for services rendered to the remain campaign no doubt.

Aye, because he'll be the worst that's ever been elevated.

the totally corrupt Martin got a lordship so I dont see why Bercow didnt. The petty jealousy of politicians
well it's a close thing doug, mandy is probably the worse but Bercow is running him close.

What an excellent idea !! Cummings, no doubt.
Is this a gift to 'The North' to make up for not running the vanity train to Leeds that I've been reading about?

That'll be a bloody long walk for black rod...
Every former speaker in the last 230 years has been offered a Peerage.
The fact that Bercow hasn’t shows how spiteful and bitter Johnson and his entourage of hard right semi fascists are.
Sad that they so dishonourable in victory, and even sadder that an arch socialist has to do the decent thing and uphold a British tradition.
I'm sure Corbyn's motive is mischievous rather than to uphold a tradition.
