After the loss of naval vessels due to Argentinian strikes with Exocet missiles the Task Force commander was aware that the missiles could be seen approaching on radar but were so fast there was no time for evasive maneuvering to avoid them.
The aircraft carriers were vital. If they were lost then there would be no Combat Air Patrol (C.A.P.)
Helicopters were deployed to hover above these ships to act as decoys to lure any incoming Exocets away from the capital ships. Modern military aircraft and VIP aircraft fire flares to attract heat seeking missiles.
Prince Andrew and other Fleet Air Arm pilots flew these dangerous missions to protect and shield the fleet.

Today, PA is on record as saying that he is willing to co-operate, but he hasn't been asked!

In the same piece, it says that he has been in discussions with he legal team 'most days' about this issue, so it's a little difficult to believe that a team of lawyers have not been in communication with the FBI, if they are keen to talk to him.

What does he think - their letter got lost in the post?
