How low can the Tories stoop?
https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2020/jan/28/got-brexit-done-tory-party-sells-12-tea-towel-in-celebration

A loo-roll with "Brexit is sh**" would be more appropriate.

A celebration of a nation's great achievement can not reasonably be described as triumphalism. To try to do so sounds suspiciously like propaganda from those saddened to find that their wish for the nation to fail to achieve, didn't get granted. Normally when something great occurs there are souvenirs of all types to be bought and handed down the generations in commemoration and remembrance. A tea towel should be the tip of the iceberg.
I fear “tip of the iceberg” may prove an unintentionally apt description
The Guardian really is a pathetic journal;

It says in the article; "Britain may be leaving Europe…
… but the Guardian is staying." How can a supposedly literate paper get it so wrong twice in one sentence; Britain ain't leaving Europe & where does it think everyone else is bound for?

There will come a time when the Brexit debate will have to move on to an analysis of what it actually means. The vision of Brexit Britain espoused by parts of the Tory party is wholly at odds with the lives and welfare of many of the thousands who voted for them to “get Brexit done”
So while it’s understandable that people want to celebrate now, its to be hoped that those people will still be celebrating in a few years time. “Freedom” means different things to hedge fund managers and to those who merely and understandably want their referendum vote upheld.
I’m not sure about “triumphalism” - it smells more of profiteering in people’s hopes.
Whichever side of the line you stood is now immaterial; on Friday the UK will leave Europe.
It *is* a momentous occasion (again, it doesn't matter whether you think it is the correct outcome) and there will be all manner of tat, or memorabilia (depending on your viewpoint) made to commemorate the event.
AnswerBank will become very clogged and very boring if we have to deconstruct every little thing coming onto the market....

Tell everyone what Ichkeria means, ichi.
How about the brave Brexiteers all buy Dominic Frisby's lovely ditty about the referendum? Frisby is donating all the profits to the Maggie Oliver Foundation for victims of child rape gangs. So not only are we donating to a worthy cause but we are forcing the anti British, pro EUSSR radio station to play it. They will have to use the bleeper a bit. though. Make it no 1 and watch the faces on the already funereal like Remainiacs crumple. I wont post the link.....it will be removed. But you can find the ditty on Youtube by putting "Dominic Frisby 17 million"...in the search box. We could use it in the next Eurovision song contest as well.....Haha.

Nothing to do with you. ;-)
The remoaners remind me of an electric fan heater, they give out hot air and noise, but no illumination.
Could one of them please tell us exactly why they want to remain in the failing European Union?
A bit late to ask (or answer) that question now :P
//Please credit Remainers with some common sense and intelligence. //

Like Terry Christian, on live television yesterday? where he said that anyone who voted Brexit should be killed? is that intelligent or common sense? Really?

To get back to the triumphalist tea towel......yet another prime example of the arrogance of Boris "I got Brexit done" as if he did it alone. The Tories have achieved Brexit by conning the Brexiteers up north to lend their vote to Boris and his cronies.
It doesn't say 'I got Brexit done'. It says 'Got Brexit Done'.
great song togs!

Zacs - it may just as well have the "I" in front as it's plastered all over Boris.
Very confused. Amazon is supposed to be flogging it at 99p but they charged nothing ? Mentions some sort of promotion without giving details. If they charge nothing how does the charity get anything ?
I'll just donate some money to the charity without inflicting the "song" upon myself if that's okay Togo.
