Dec 2019, Part of the Conservative Party, Election Manifesto , was" Free TV licence for over 75's" and" thinking about abolishing it for good," yesterday it was announced The CONS will increase the fee from april this year. Is that why they are known as the Nasty Party ?. or even the Con Party

Emmie, it’s going up by £3 to £157-50
One can think about a good idea and decide not to go ahead. Or maybe they're still considering it as to if and when.
The government handed over the burden of the free tv licences to the BBC and stopped funding. It is the BBC's decision to end free licences for all over 75s

From the above link //The price change will not have an impact on the free over-75s TV licence.//
As usual Gulliver has only posted what suits him.
Oh, and I don't think many believe everything in a manifesto gets done, let alone in the early days.
dannyk, the over 75s not on pension credit will have to pay the increased fee from 1st June
Barry, the government is still in negotiation with the BBC regarding the free licence for over 75's.
Link, please, danny
Sorry, no link, heard it being discussed in the HOC just before the election.
Google it
poorclare, I have 'googled' it and can find no reference to negotiations between the government and the BBC re over 75s free licences.
Perhaps you would be good enough to post the link you've found.

09.05.O/G ,You are so correct , Michael Gove admitted it, he more or less said 95% of what they promised in their manifesto will never get done, and the public fell for it.

I addressed emmie....not you:0)
I have downloaded the relevant manifesto and found only this re free tv licenses:

We recognise the value of free TV
licences for over-75s and believe
they should be funded by the BBC.

The premise of this question is so utterly flawed that I'm still trying to work out of gulliver is being serious or not.
