From what I read, anything that portrays Trump in less than utterly glowing terms, halo and all, is immediately denounced by a pack of slavering lunatics in MAGA hats and tshirts and Republican politicians, knowing what side their bread's buttered go along.
There is no 'fair' anymore, just BS and lies.

Douglas, even Trump supporters know he can be a crass *** sometimes.
But the Democrats held such a one sided investigation, decision made before the start that I doubt even you would help a kangaroo court.
Look at the facts. Not simply what Schiff made up but the bona fide, verifiable facts are. Look not at Schiff edited clips of witness testimony, look at the whole extract and get the full facts and context.

I understand the process, and the reason for it, but the fact that an acquittal was almost assured from the start beggars the question as to whether this particular political strategy was well chosen.
The result will be President Trump blowing is own trumpet to an even more insufferable level, and an increase in his ratings, and potential re-election chances.
I agree entirely with the action being brought in principle, but the virtual certainty of loss does negate the time and costs involved.
The phrase 'Pick your battles … ' comes to mind.

//They have projected themselves onto Trump.//
It is what they do Cassa....home and abroad. Accuse opponents of doing, and being, exactly what they are culpable of. A ploy as old as mankind and a strategy known even by toddlers......."it wasn't me it was him Miss". They also realise that it is very hard to defend yourself against, if they can get their lies sorted and the ducks in a row. I bet that Bill Clinton wishes that he had got himself a "whistleblower". :))

Worth a read through. I saved it last October when all this started to come to a head(Clinton again) as it seemed to have a handle on what was happening that all the mainstream outlets had missed or were ignoring. Didn't post it back then because frankly I didn't want my stalkers all lining up and using it to name call.

Ludwig - // No, just any trial where everyone knows exactly what the verdict is going to be before it even starts. //
But no-one did 'know' - because the future is not certain.
A high level of probability of outcome is what this trial started with, but that is not the same as an absolute certainty, which of course cannot actually exist.

Being tried by his opponents and cleared by his allies isn't a good look. I'm not sure anyone, apart from maybe Mitt Romney, comes out of this looking good.
There's plenty of reason to think that Trump's main interest is Trump -- it's not a leftist thing to say so either. Back when Trump was not yet even the official nominee, some of the most visceral hatred about him, his character and so on, came from the right, the Republicans; people who now are in some cases his strongest advocates. Listen to what Lindsey Graham, etc, were saying in early 2016.
They soon shut up when they realised that the party faithful were enraptured by the wonderful oratorical skills of Donald "I'm good with words, I know the best words" Trump, but they said it and thought it nonetheless.
