Her behaviour was observed prior to boarding the aircraft in the departure lounge. As she was flying to Turkey she was entitled to duty free and had necked a 2 litre bottle of gin ,or part of it, before boarding.
The airline staff are just as culpable. I saw the mounties called to the departure gate at Pearson Int. Toronto who arrested an inebriated wannabee passenger. She didn't fly. Why weren't Essex police called to oik this moron out the airport?
I notice there is a slogan on the fuselage of their aircraft boasting about their flight punctuality or words to that effect. If Police had been called and she didn't fly there would be a delay on take off whilst she identified her hold luggage which would have to be removed before take off. Perhaps the airline were more worried about losing their ATC take off slot???
Good luck with recouping £86,000 from a now jobless sot.
