"...is never concentrated into just one or a few individuals..."

you're talking 'in theory', ideal situations jim.

They think "the swamp" is nothing to do with them whilst they willingly participate and swim in it every day - trees no see wood.
//As for this nonsense about a "swamp" that needs draining, which is ironically the most anti-British sentiment expressed in this thread.//

No it isn't. For decades our civil service has been infested with common purpose placements that have covertly reported everything secretly to the EUSSR. They are still there, bitter, and peevishly determined to undermine our democracy. We saw what happened to May when she let them feel secure and untouchable. They were so emboldened that they nigh on brought our Parliament to a close. Boris needs to winkle them out and sent them packing as well. Preferably off to Brussels where they can accept the pieces of silver that they so deserve.
The role of the Civil Service is twofold -- firstly, to implement policy, and secondly to make sure that politicians get proper advice from the benefit of lifetimes of experience. As far as I have seen they do both pretty well -- just because that advice is sometimes inconvenient doesn't make it subversive.
TTT defames reputable newspaper - Shocker
That was all very laudable when the civil serpents were only giving "advice" to our politicians. They have long since been corrupted by the reptiles who run the EUSSR. They have not had our interests at heart ever since we were trapped in the deadly web of deceit that was woven in Brussels. Time to remove the diseased bits of the body and dispose of them.
K lol
Togo - " They were so emboldened that they nigh on brought our Parliament to a close. "

Are 'They' the Civil Service and when did they almost achieve this closure??
BoJo seems to be doing fine and doing exactly what i voted for.

Someone does need to drain the swamp, far too many leakers and people willing to betray the UK to the EUSSR as Togo has rightly pointed out. They are political and need to go.

Go Bojo!
Just because you've developed some sort of deranged war mentality doesn't mean you need to infect the rest of us with it.

There's no such thing as the EUSSR -- to call the EU that is an insult to people who suffered in the real USSR, if nothing else. Nothing from the last three years has been betrayal or treason, or even remotely close to it. The Civil Service is not a "swamp".

Enjoy your victory, but seriously you can stop overhyping it now. Let's hope you are right about Johnson, although what counts as "fine" is a matter of perspective, I suppose. All I can see is someone mistaking debate for dissent.
I think diddly is forgetting that we still have Brexit negotiations to attend to. Boris is surrounding himself with a cabinet which will support him. Very sensible.
Cobblers jim and you know it. You only defend them because you know the Civil service is swamped with people with left wing views like you, views that were voted out.

They need to be sorted out even if you dont like it.

Go Bojo.
This "swamp" may be similar to Trump's fluid, shifting "swamp". Empty sound bite they repeat but cannot even define.
The Civil Service is nowhere near as left-wing as you think -- so, no, it's not cobblers. Not even close. It's frankly disgusting that this is the level of political discourse.
Boris can do no wrong in my eyes. First PM with balls since the Great Lady.
" the Civil service is swamped with people with left wing views like you, views that were voted out. "

Wow, we can 'vote out' the Civil Service now.... a language and reality all of their own.
Your honeymoon period ain't gonna last, JD.
These uncivil servants were involved in leaking to their friends in the press. That's why they had to go.
" That's why they had to go."

Who ???? Name names Spicerack, no 'state' secrets here.
I don't think so, Jimbo. I can see him lasting until he retires of his own volition. 15 years at least.
I'm afraid, in this instance, JD, Jim could be right.
