You possibly could have been (according to the police) depending on what opinions you may have expressed on this site and elsewhere.

//As it is the word 'fat' is frowned upon now, so I wonder what the 'correct' description will be going forwards. Well upholstered?//

The phrase you're after is "plus sized".

As a renowned salad dodger, I've been openly abused in the street on occasion. Being called "fat" is the least offensive thing I've been called.
Really, Mozzie?
Taking offence seems to be a fashion amongst some groups. Crazy.
No on can remove your thoughts, they are between your ears.

The trouble is that often people think they have to share them on the screen or in print regardless.
Yup, Ummmm. Not for a long time, but it used to happen frequently. Mind you, I flattened a couple of noses because of it too. ;-)
It takes a special type of knuckle-dragging mouth-breather to abuse anybody in the street because of their size or colour or sexuality or whatever...

As you're a self-confessed salad-dodger, you're in very good company with the demi-god Homer Simpson.

You don't win friends with salad...

Just try to imagine getting a police series commissioned these days where our hero goes by Dixon. :-)

I could have taken offence at been discriminated against by my previous jail time, or my rubbish work record, or my health (mental) record but I didnt. Just got on with it.
Its all a bit rediculous now. Dont even know what gender im supposed to be!
Mozz - I just don't understand the mentality of some people.
It really does DD. On the whole, they're young guys trying to impress their mates by acting hard. Not much I can do if they keep their distance, but the couple who approached me to take it further soon realised that with more weight behind it, a punch hits harder ;o)

D'oh!
Jeez, the number of times I have been personally abused by unrepresented opponents. If I had a quid for the names I've been called....

The police have gone too far this time. They are in danger of a) limiting our freedom of speech and b) devaluing the complaints of those who really are the victims of hate crimes.

It's lazy, slack policing which takes valuable resources away from real crimes.

I won't be posting again since I imagine I'll be nicked within the hour......
I know ummmm. It's why I have sympathy for minority groups who find themselves victimised on account of their looks, beliefs or sexuality.

Thank God social media wasn't around in those days.
I'm with you there, Mozz...
I once got called a "Fat, old c***" by an opponent in person. I snapped back "I'm not old".
That kind of abuse I can understand :-) but random strangers in the street...

Circumferencially challenged is a common term – I prefer my own observation, that the person is taller when lying down.
I worked in a factory in my twenties BM, and some snotty nosed punk called me a fat c***. I remember jumping over the counter we were working at to get to him, but then it's a complete blank. I got suspended with full pay, he got fired. My manager at the time said he would've done the same thing.
People are so angry these days though. I've seen (and received) some vile abuse for no reason.

I remember politely asking a lady to keep her dog under control after it attacked my cat (cat won). The torrent of profanity and abuse I got was vile. She called me common. I couldn't help responding "I'm not the one screaming in the street".

Problem is the police don't really get it either. On two occasions I've had to point out to them how they have been wrong via a complaint (both upheld). I'm lucky, I have some training and have been able to stand my ground. Lots of people don't and bend to what plod say.
"limit our freedom of speech"

We don't have freedom of speech in the UK. We have "freedom of expression subject to formalities, conditions, restrictions or penalties as are prescribed by law and are necessary in a democratic society".

Good article here:

"freedom of expression subject to formalities, conditions, restrictions or penalties as are prescribed by law and are necessary in a democratic society"

or

We'll decide, sonny Jim. Weasel words indeed.
