Canada, who should pay for it, as the Canadian Prime Minster says that they won't once Harry has stopped his Royal duties in March.

anne: "Emmie will he be a target ? Who from ? " - what an incredibly crass statement, think it through.....

that was what i was wondering ^^
I doubt they will be Canada's problem for very long. A quick hop across the Bay and they'll be in the USA, where they are more welcome than in Canada. Many modern Canadians hate the Colonial connotations associated with the Royals.
If he/she take on a UK duty, then the UK should pick up the tab, if a Canadian duty, then the RMCP and the Government there, otherwise it's their bill and Daddy can always slip him the occasional £100k pocket money.

but as i said the PM said his country won't pay for it....

Which is probably the ulterior motive of her ladyship once the current POTUS has ended his terms of office. Not sure if the US government will be jumping through hoops to provide state sponsored protection ever.
At least their private close protection teams are licensed to carry firearms against the crazies who may see a lucrative ransom package.( Thats a clue for annieasquith btw)
I don't think it's up to us, or Canada, to pay any more. He didn't want the pains and responsibilities of royalty; ergo he loses the privileges once he ceases to fulfil royal duties and engagements. If his family want to help out, that's up to them. As an irascible teaching colleague was often heard to bellow, "Rights DEMAND responsibilities, lad!".
Canada won't pay for his security and I don't blame them. It looks like the British taxpayer will be stumping up which imo is disgusting ! He has given up on Britain and yet he still expects us to support him - greedy, money grubbing prat. Pay for it yourself scrounger !!
Now hereIam - tell us how you have given your life over to public and military service overseas, especially in war-zones? We are interested - as I think we know the answer and it smacks that you are suffering from a major case of hypocrisy over this......
Harry spent just ten weeks on active service , with heavy security protecting him , just a toy soldier really.
He spent 10 YEARS. Prince Harry served in the Army for ten years, rising to the rank of Captain and undertaking two tours of Afghanistan. He continues to work in support of his fellow servicemen, promoting support for wounded men and women as they adapt to life post-injury.
Most celebrities, especially in the US, pay for their own security. Harry and Meghan should do the same. Prince Andrew pays for his daughters. If Harry can afford an entire first class train carriage, unless it was a freebie, he should pay for protection. Just a point who is footing the bill for the mansion on Vancouver Island or is that a freebie?
A freebie according to every report I've read.
I agree with Jourdain. Why should anybody other than they or their families pay for their security while they are running around making millions for themselves.
As Catherine Tate would say, "what a ******* liberty".
