I’m rather surprised no one has raised this ;-)

I don’t know whose side to take here other than to note that the Home Secretary is a proven liar ...
Which may or may not be relevant.
It also seems that the PM and the Cabinet Secretary had indeed intervened in this dispute, as so they ought.
And yet ...

Over her “holiday” in Israel while International Development Secretary under the previous PM.
She resigned after undisclosed unofficial contacts with the Israeli government were revealed
thank you...

I honestly have no axe to grind here.
I don’t like PP I fully admit but I know nothing about Sir Philip.
I don't know what to say!
he is in high dudgeon that's for sure,
whether she is at fault perhaps time will tell
I'm sure there are some who think that Priti Patel "must be doing something right" if she has annoyed someone in the "metropolitan elite"*, but that's broken logic.

*Incidentally, this may also serve as a useful draft for what TTT wants to say.
It's a shame Laura Kuenssberg can't spell 'vicious'
ichi //She resigned after undisclosed unofficial contacts with the Israeli government were revealed//
Did she lie?
He resigns, but says,
"I believe these events give me very strong grounds to claim constructive, unfair dismissal and I will be pursuing that claim in the courts." ??
Sounds like another chancer trying to get his hands on as much tax-payer dosh as he can....high time this compensation culture was finally nipped in the bud, hopefully this will be a test case.

She claimed that Boris Johnson (then Foreign Secretary) knew of her trip.
In fact he did not.

For example.
Regarding her Israeli visits,
"Clarification of remarks to the Guardian newspaper

On Friday 3rd November, the Secretary of State was quoted in the Guardian newspaper as follows:

“Boris knew about the visit. The point is that the Foreign Office did know about this, Boris knew about [the trip].”

This quote may have given the impression that the Secretary of State had informed the Foreign Secretary about the visit in advance. The Secretary of State would like to take this opportunity to clarify that this was not the case. The Foreign Secretary did become aware of the visit, but not in advance of it."

Although some of her visits had been revealed, more were disclosed and her leaving the Department followed that.

In fact Sir Philip has apparently rejected a no doubt lucrative severance package to go public.
The move follows more than a week of reports about rows between Sir Philip and Priti Patel, the Home Secretary, with allies claiming that he had attempted to block announcements, thwart staff moves and undermine her in Cabinet.

In a highly unusual move, Sir Philip announced his resignation in a statement to the BBC. He said he "did not believe" Ms Patel's denial of any involvement in a "vicious and orchestrated briefing campaign" against her top civil servant.

Sir Philip's announcement comes after The Telegraph revealed last week that the mandarin was on a "s---list" of permanent secretaries Number 10 wanted replaced over claims that they are significantly at odds with Conservative ministers and advisers.
