For goodness sake, just obey the rules and stop making excuses for idiots who don't. In France you're only allowed to walk/exercise within 2 km of your house so let's stop the fools who now drive in order to walk by putting in more restrictive measures and issuing more and heavier fines.
It's a case of getting a proper balance as much as it is trying to worl out appropriate penalties. One might drive in order to avoid others who walk. There are many other legitimate reasons to need to go somewhere other than the ridiculously short list of exceptions, and the vague, subjective "essential" definition. If folk are ensuring they remain isolated then that should be sufficient precaution without over the top control of the people by the State. Find those blatantly flouting necessary rules, such as party attendees; don't pick on decent citizens just because one can.
> So, when there's no restrictions the place is virtually empty, with restrictions there were absolutely loads of people.
That's right, because normally on a Saturday people have 1001 things to do, like go shopping, play some sport, watch some sport, go to a garden centre, do some DIY, etc. etc.
Now, they're cooped up in their houses and allowed out once for exercise. So they're taking a walk.
The head of the Metropolitan Police Federation, Ken Marsh, has called for parents of teens and young adults caught breaking lockdown rules to be fined. There are many, many parents (both mums and dads) of unruly sturdy teens and young adults who would find it almost impossible to keep them indoors and fining them would only make life harder. Especially when the youngsters read about karaokes and countryside barbecues being held by so called grown-ups.
I made him phone in sick, and his boss closed the whole firm down. They all travel in shared vans. I think fair play to his boss. He's annoying me though :-) Being at home asking me what rubbish I've been buying on Amazon....the cheek of it!
Today is bin collection day in my village. They usually collect by 10am, but no sign of them - can't say I'm surprised as the crew is usually about 3 or 4 and they would have to travel together in the front cab of the lorry. So how can they hope to operate the service now?
'Our' debit card, Theland, I only use a CC for holidays for the extra protection.
I'm not an extravagant spender. We have extra people in the house so I bought some extra cups. His Mum & Dad were suppose to be coming over so I bought a bedding set. Ireland is in lockdown though so they won't be over for a bit.
The photos in that link of people in markets, beaches and crowded seafronts is just horrifying to me. When I've taken Sammi to the park, there's on average 100 feet between us...sometimes 15 or twenty. But I'd say everyone is careful.
brainiac...recycling hasn't been collected here in 3 weeks. I live in a block of flats and the recycling bin can hold no more. It's just going wherever now. I'll admit yo not separating things.
Brainiac. Our Council has advised that we should wear gloves when collecting our bins after they have been emptied to prevent any cross contamination from bin to bin.
