The basic two sides in the Greta argument seem to be less about the veracity of her arguments, than her ability to make them believably.
I am firmly on the side of Naomi and those who believe that this is a disturbed and manipulated child who is being utilised to publicise and agenda, the scientific complexities of which she is simply unable to comprehend because she has not lived long enough to have read and understood them properly.
If you are going to put yourself on the world stage - or to be accurate, have yourself to be put on the world stage by adults around you who should be protecting and raising you, not putting you on show like a circus elephant - then hostility goes with the territory, the higher your profile and subject, the greater hostility you will get.
So although I think Ms Thunberg's prophesies of doom are both unsustainable and incorrectly targeted, my main concerns would be that she is being manipulated and damaged by her parents for their own self-aggrandisement by proxy.

andy-hughes, i agree absolutely, she should as i said, using an island
as an example, to learn eaxpeience what its really like, but its just a very very small learning example, i could say rainforrests, antartica ice studies.. she needs to finish school and take that further in her quest for knowledge in her desire to save the earth, again she's a pawn.

Fender - as I see it, for some utterly unfathomable reason, a group of people seem to believe a climate change 'message' more fervently, simply because it is delivered to them by the novelty a damaged vulnerable teenager, rather than some crusty (but deeply knowledgeable) academic.
It smacks to me of Joan Of Arc - who convinced people that because she says her message is from God talking to her, she must be talking sense.
History shows that taking messages from novelty figures does not usually end well - and the most severe cost is paid by the novelty figure - the manipulators simply move on.

You don't know me from Adam, so you have no idea if my concern is 'faux' or not, so you cannot comment on its veracity.
If you can't distinguish between 'hate' and 'concern', then you need to buy a dictionary, or better still, try accepting what is written at face value, instead of trying to twist it to fit your own perception of the situation.
