Some people here seem to be in a permanent state of confusion over what I think are quite simple guidelines for the gradual easing of lockdown and for getting people back to work….so here’s their opportunity to shine. If you were in charge, how would you do it?

Expanding on the OP slightly, I would be more adventurous. Since the A levels season is upon us (whether the exams are sat or not). Year 13 will not be in school/ college now anyway. I would, therefore, certainly allow 6th form colleges to open, since they will only have the Year 12 students in college and "double" the space available to safe distance. Likewise...

Back to normal with social distancing, face masks, hand sanitising and washing regularly. How that would work with some employers is not for me to say but people and businesses have to take responsibility for this as well.
Visit but distance with older relatives only if you have been symptom free for 14 days.

Naomi, someone could come up with the 'plan to and all plans' - more cunning than any Baldrick ever dreamed up - and still some of our great British public would act like uneducated morons. Yesterday I ventured to the supermarket for the first time since lockdown began - having relied on local shops in the meantime. We queued outside for about 20 minutes, edging ever slowly to the escalator and, once at the top, we were met with simple instructions; "A one way system is in operation, please follow the arrows." Yet the number of brain-dead ignoramuses (or is it ignoramusi?) moving through the aisles in the wrong direction was staggering. Hope none of them actually hold driving licences.
And, this morning, I have seen pics of commuters packed like sardines into tube carriages with nary a face mask in sight. Covid 19 is rubbing it's hands with glee and smacking it's lips in anticipation of the feast ahead.

Tora is broadly correct. It’s just ‘hip & cool’ to knock government guidelines. There are a few who are too thick to understand (as demonstrated on other threads most days). They’re the same people who make life just that bit more difficult for the vast majority, which is what we’re witnessing here.
Diddly; "....if I went into one just for just a couple of things, i'm damned if i'd walk up and down every b***** aisle."
The policy hasn't been put in place by Boris and Co, so that people may follow all sheep-like. It's been put in place by the store manager in order to try and maintain the social distancing which could possibly keep this virus at arm's length, so to speak. I doubt whether even your BFF Jezza would disagree with it.
