yes it is a crime not to do so ( theft or fraud or conversion)
and - altho - but I am not sure if Capt Tom specified to begin with , where it would go
and there is a middle man involved - which is taking a £300k fee
oh hospitals have a general charity fund in to which the money would pour UNLESS you specify the purpose
( which of course you should always do to prevent the admin using it to repaper their offices with furry wallpaper )
if you specify for a purpose which is either filled ( MRI scann) or a ward which has closed then the cy-pres doctrine allows them to use if for the nearest purpose - here another scanner or a ward which does the same thing
As far as I am aware justgiving the spongers who run that site are still hanging onto their fee which could be as much as 3% but they are under a lot of pressure to do their bit as well. Does anybody know if the 6 million or so Gift Aid is added on or included in his total.
Crapst, JustGiving will have to pay the processing fee which will be a minimum 1 per cent plus their running costs (not cheap). They have donated £100k to the NHS. They are a business and can't run at a loss. How many donors would have got off their backside and posted a cheque or taken cash to a bank or other collection point?
