President Takes Anti Malarial - Is Dettol Next?
144 Answers
The President cleared the room when he admitted taking hydroxychloroquine.
He had also found a doctor to prescribe it
and MY question is : if a relative did that and died - would you complain to the authorities ( GMC and courts here ) that the doctor had NOT acted in the patients ( your relative that is!) best interests and should pay you ( the estate ) much moolah and lose his licence
Note to help posters - hydroxyChlor does NOT have a licence to be used in warding off covid

Now you're just being silly again. I think we're better off without you.

Watching the clip, he says it was the White House doctor who has prescribed it for him. The doc didn't suggest he took it, and I wonder if he even told POTUS about it's dangerous side effects of taking it for anything other than malaria. He also states that many 'front line workers are taking it.
The thing is, if The Donald comes to no harm, he will say it worked. and that he was right all along.
As for claiming compo, Michael Jackson's doc did time for doing as bid by his lord and pay-master general.

Danny; "Can't imagine any doctor in the US refusing to supply any medication requested by his president...…" That's why I made reference to MJ. The rich and powerful will always find someone willing to leap to their every command. The consequences being loss of job (+ loads of moolah) should they not do so.
//Coronavirus patients in at least two NHS hospitals are being treated with an anti-malaria drug controversially touted by Donald Trump, in what is the fastest growing trial in UK medical history.
Since late March, Hydroxychloroquine has been given to patients of London’s Barts Health NHS Trust and the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital (RD&E), among others.
It is one of a number of drugs being tested in the UK’s Randomised Evaluation of Covid-19 Therapy (Recovery) trial – the world’s largest randomised clinical trial of potential coronavirus treatments.//

Hundreds of thousands of people are taking it world wide. Thousands of doctors are prescribing it.
Yes, it can be dangerous to people with heart conditions or people self dosing (overdosing) So can every tablet in your medicine cabinets. (read the instruction leaflets).
This thread should disappear soon. Our world renowned AB Covid experts think it kills people.
Or perhaps the posts mocking D.Trump and condemning HCQ from the above experts will remain.

Looking at the Independent link, I think it's obvious the difference between clinical trial, overseen by medical practitioners, and what Trump is doing.
One of Exeter’s first Covid-19 patients to take part in the Recovery trial says there is still no way of knowing whether or not her recovery was aided by Hydroxychloroquine.
She said that she has no idea whether some of the symptoms she experienced, and her recovery, were due to the infection or were side-effects of the drug.
She went on to say “Until they get more people through the trial they will not know. That’s the point of the study.”

“Take it. What do you have to lose?” Mr Trump told Americans on Saturday,

You say the the FDA have 'sanctioned the use of 31,000,000 doses in the US'.
I've been to their website, and I'm not seeing what you're seeing.
The FDA states:
//Hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine are FDA-approved to treat or prevent malaria. Hydroxychloroquine is also FDA-approved to treat autoimmune conditions such as chronic discoid lupus erythematosus, systemic lupus erythematosus in adults, and rheumatoid arthritis.//
//The EUA was based upon limited evidence that the medicines may provide benefit, and for this reason, we authorized their use only in hospitalized patients under careful heart monitoring.//
//FDA cautions against use of hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine for COVID-19 outside of the hospital setting or a clinical trial due to risk of heart rhythm problems//
Is it possible that you're sources may have been referring to prescriptions for other ailments?
