What, no smiley, Jim?
I've never taken to Mr Cummings but that's not the point. I've spent some time in my earlier life listening to garrulous drivel spouted by people trying to pull the wool over my eyes. I know a kidder. Mr Cummings, more than most, would know that any ordinary Joe trying the stunt (or more properly, stunts) that he pulled would fall foul of the law. He knows it and he knows that we know it. His actions were not reasonable; they didn't even come close to that definition. His arrogance, however, knows no bounds. He still insists he was in the right and he was not. It's never wise to take legal advice from a police officer but at least two senior plods have been on the telly with their interpretation of his actions. However, there was also a senior QC on last night and he was unequivocal in his belief that if Mr Cummings's case had gone to court he would be found guilty.
Having heard details of the Press Conference I've revised my opinion. He's not a selfish pillock. He's a selfish, arrogant pillock.

Just seen this quote from Prof Jackie Cassell, the deputy dean of the Brighton and Sussex Medical School:
"London has lots of ITU (intensive treatment unit) and hospital beds as a major population centre. Its residents should not be decamping to places where they might need – and in this case did need – to use another region’s hospitals and health care facilities. This is an important reason why Cummings should have stayed put. And he, like all senior government advisers, will have been well aware of this."

Spot on, NJ.
Fcc...Get off his back? Dear god....if people don't stay on the backs of those abusing their positions of power for personal benefit your country is going to be in a bigger mess than it is now.
You've already significantly increased the death rate in my country by your government's shamefully slow action at the start of this pandemic. Your attitude makes it even worse. Wake up.

I was hoping for that question, Brainiac. Seems unlikely but perhaps she can't. Will have to find out... :-)
He thinks he may have stopped for petrol but can't quite remember. Bit like when he said he and Boris had a chat about what he had been doing but neither could quite remember what had been said. Couldn't make it up could you. It'd be funny if it wasn't so serious and damaging to the country.
