the other week it was Domgate wall to wall, nothing else happened on the planet. This week it's Floyd wall to wall at the exclusion of all else!

" - I know lots about it, same as I know lots about soaps but never watch them. It permeates society via the great unwashed, I acquire knowledge without even realising it. I shock myself regularly by knowing answers about soaps on quiz shows!
‘ I see no value in Twitface at all’
I’ve just given you a value......
A more balanced view of world news.
You’re predjudice against Twitter is unjustified unless you’ve tried it. I keep up to speed with local events, the Yorkshire Dales, some humorous stuff, as well as the news. It’s kind of like a personalised Reader’s Digest (for those of us who remember it). It’s not evil or corrupt unless you want it to be. There are adverts which pop up but they’re very easily ‘muted’ or blocked and you never see them again. Go on, go on, go on.....try it.

Tora - the media is perfectly capable of handling more than one story at a time, as it clearly does, every day.
The domination of one story is driven by the consumers of news, the delivers are news are driven by their consumers.
The domination effect has emerged from the way in which the public wants its news presented. If the public wanted a scattergun approach, then the media would provide it, but it doesn't, it likes to follow one story obsessively for about a week or so, and then move on.
It's human nature - back in the day, that's how we got hit records!

You obviously believe that. I don't. //
Allow me to qualify -
I mean that providers of news are driven in terms of the format and presentation of news, rather than the news itself, that as I am sure you know, is an entirely different box of frogs.

Maajid Nawaz on LBC.
A professional journalist and agitator. Every programme he spouts on is about perceived racism. He is biased and is lucky to hold his views on UK media. He didn't get away with his carp in Egypt and probably justifiably was banged up in an Egyptian Gaol. Couldn't push his agenda there so complains about our system of democracy here.I always turn him off now he makes me puke.

I don't suppose you've ever thought looking inside a newspaper, or scrolling down a page?
On today's Mailonline front page: Sophie Wessex, sleep habits, colostomy bags, Amanda Holden's strong and sensible husband, Maddie, Isle of Wight postman, Rhian Sugden's jaw-dropping cleavage...
Jolly bad luck that there's not a lot of sports to cover at the momeht, but there are still crosswords to keep the old brain cells working.
