Some light reading for you - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Racism_in_the_United_Kingdom I say light in the hopes you'll actually read it. Then there is some more here - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_privilege
If a black lives matter protest encourages you to go outside and protest against it then you are a racist and if people say my opinion is stupid or not, I stand by it.
//Retrocop. It’s 2020, there are black people in the police and paramedics, nurses, doctors even . Obviously not in ( your day ) //
Well obviously you are wrong. I am aware of the date and I recall PC Norwell Gums joining his division to great fanfare from the press. I had a colleague on my relief called Jacko in the mid 70s from Trinidad. My wife actually WAS a nurse who trained and worked at St Mary's Paddington and one of her friends was a young daughter's daughter from Jamaica in the same Set.She continued her on ward training at Mary's W.9. but you would never of bumped into her would you?

You keep banging on about 'white privilege.' There are estimated to have been 19,000 young girls systematically raped by gangs of predominately men of Pakistani origin in this country, because of the colour of their white skin. These so called humans did not abuse women of their colour. Still want to discuss the 'white privilege' narrative?
Retro, gherkins seems to be one of the few saying racism "does" exist. You are addressing the wrong person. Unless you are suggesting it is better one way or another.
Anne @ 11.57. Ref your comment about not in Retro's day. There were plenty of Asian and black policemen in our day.In fact we (Bradford Police) had the first Asian policeman in the country and that was in 1965.
To deny white privilege is to deny history. I'm not ignorant enough to smear history to suit an ideology that doesn't have any gravity.
Retrocop, I have no desire to discuss white privilege with someone who denies its existence. The conversation will go something like... "It exists" - "No, it doesn't" and so on. Not my idea of fun. So, I would like to discuss it, just not with you.
Yes Gherkins. I guess reading about modern day slavery in this country by dark skinned men is too uncomfortable for you to discuss so you withdraw and leave it at that.
Gherkins
you are the one who keeps mentioning 'white privilege'. You bought it into the thread. I am asking what 'white privilege' these 19000 vulnerable white girls enjoyed at the hands of modern day slavers and rapists.
Do you want to sweep that dark history under the carpet and pretend it didn't happen in this country? We don't erect statues to criminals in our country yet. Only those from S.Africa.
