Yeah, I can see that happening never.
//with the exception of those who have genuonely fallen on hard time..//
That's the crux of the matter. These people need our help. It's not fair to ignore those people becaise some may abuse the system. If someone is screwing the system and they're caught, I have no sympathy for them, but don't punish the genuinely needy tring to catch the cheats.

I'm assuming that's a rhetorical question Naomi, as obvioisly, I don't know the answer.
//Katie Hopkins has said far worse in the past and has not been banned from Twitter.//
She's had temporary bans before LadyCG, perhaps it was an accumulation of offenses that got her booted for good. I don't know for certain, but Twitter have the right to remove anybody they don't want on their platform.

Twitter is a digital media company, these types of company make money by curating content that attracts users. If they believe potential content would do more harm than good - for whatever reason they choose - they they don't show that content.
As for analogies to China that's a ridiculous comparison. In the USA, the country that Twitter is incorporated in the President has retweeted multiple posts from Ms Hopkins, a retweet being the highest endorsement available on that platform - hardly the situatin in China re government censorship.

Free Speech is a valuable freedom, and with freedom comes responsibility.
Free Speech has never given anyone care blanche to say exactly what they want anywhere at any time - as illustrated in the oft-quoted 'Freedom of speech does not give you the right falsely to shout "Fire!" In a crowded theatre.'
Good websites have rules governing input, and frequently flouting them gets you banned.
Ms Hopkins, for all her notoriety, is not above the rules.

Doesn't everyone make choices? I know very little about Katie Hopkins, she just doesn't register with me and anything she may or may not say will not affect my life one jot. I choose not to "twitter" as I have never really heard anything good about it. I choose to be a member of AB although I may not agree with everything that is said. We don't have to read everything, watch everything, listen to everything - lead your life the way that suits you.
naomi - // Rules on an ever-sliding scale. Anjem Choudary welcome, Katie Hopkins public enemy number one. //
I can't comment from a position of strength because I don't 'do' Twitter, so I have no idea about the contributions of either.
Could it be that Mr Choudray does not contravene their Site Rules?
