The wearing of masks/coverings could be made compulsory is shops and pubs.

I understand how it could work in shops (even though I don’t think it’s necessary) but how would it work in pubs?

Lifting the mask up or down every time you sup is daft.

I dare say that, if it does become compulsory, those that are not wearing them will be refused entry.
I think we should have done this in shops months ago.
I'll force my way in then and make a holy show of myself and get it all put on youtube!!
Marge, if you don't wear a mask ,if it becomes compulsory, you will risk some sort of punishment. Is it really worth it?
Depends on what the punishment is danny - a spell in the stocks maybe??
lol
hee hee.
I wouldn't wear one.
Feel sorry for the Scottish people who didn't vote for the Dictator.
there is no mention of pubs in the articles?
I didn't mention pubs?

There is in The Daily Moan one.
//No one is doing that though. People are milling around all over the place.//

Of course they are! That’s what people do in pubs. So you either accept that or keep them closed (and destroy an industry that employs over half a million people).

//I think we should have done this in shops months ago.//

Why?

//No, I mean when it becomes compulsory Bobbi - I never wear one, feel claustrophobic about it all!//

Then you won’t have to. You will have a “reasonable excuse”:

=========
For the purposes of regulation 3(1), the circumstances in which a person (“P”) has a reasonable excuse include those where—

(a) P cannot put on, wear or remove a face covering—

(i) because of any physical or mental illness or impairment, or disability (within the meaning of section 6 of the Equality Act 2010(1)), or

(ii) without severe distress;

//I dare say that, if it does become compulsory, those that are not wearing them will be refused entry.//

Possibly. Unless they have a “reasonable excuse”. See the legislation for public transport here:

http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2020/592/regulation/4/made

If the guidance for shops follows that for public transport, shoppers will not be required to provide evidence of their reasonable excuse.
An absolute gift for shop lifters having to wear a face mask.
I also feel claustrophobic about it, despite what I said earlier about universal wearing of masks.
I’ve just been looking on clothes shops who are are doing their masks in lovely patterns, but I don’t think I could do it.
NJ - Is that true, that I will have a reasonable excuse then ?
The mask issue is typical of this incompetent government trying to cover its tracks.
deskdiary its a total bunch of toot. the Mail as usual have taken a fact (Boris seen wearing a mask) and extrapolated it into all sorts of nonsense.
Woof , I love your command of the English word
‘Extrapolated’ you’re a very clever lady , that rolls of ones tongue , it does :0)
Wouldn't we have to prove our 'medical' condition for not wearing a mask? If not, we could all claim to be claustrophobic or asthmatic or whatever.
Spicey - would you not wear one if they became compulsory?
