So Crystal Palace footballer Wilfred Saha has recieved "sickening" racial abuse over Facebook.

A 12 year old boy has been arrested.

How the hell does a little boy become so warped that they think that this is acceptable? What the hell has his parents been teaching him?

Whatever happened to, sticks and stones can break your bones, but names can never hurt you. Arresting a twelve year old child for being an idiot. This slippery slope is going to end badly for society in general. All in the name of political correctness and excepting diversity. Baby with the bath water comes to mind. My son and I are Saracens seasons ticket holders, and I go to as many England games at Twickenham I can, and not once, ever, have I seen any racism.

The ire in this story should be expressed at the parents; a 12 year old child cannot be inherently racist - this must have come from the parents.

What a sweeping statement, Tora has not summed it up at all. There are many football fans who abhor abuse and racism in all its forms.

If he does this at 12 what sort of person will he grow up to become. Agree that his parents need to be questioned and be held responsible. You have to wonder what he hears at home. Why are so many football fans apparently racist when there are so many excellent players of colour?

I think arresting the lad was completely the right thing to do. Might scare some sense into him, but also folk are quite right, the parents need to be held to account.

I don't submit to Tora's fleeting judgement of football fans, many people in various forms of entertainment have been subject to online abuse. It's not exclusive to football by a long shot.
