I suspect for the under 30s it's closer to 1%, no wonder they are having their shindigs.

It’s not often I agree with TTT, but I do here. A minuscule percentage of this country and the world has been affected physically by C19. Of course every death is very sad but there will be many more unnecessary deaths if we don’t just get on with life.

Er, why are you moving goalpost's asking me that judge. A dont choose policys & prioritys for nhs. But a think you must see we need to keep Corona cases right down yet you argue against restriction's and 14 day quarintine?
A think we have moved along way from torras question so a think we agree he's was a compleate missunderstanding
//But a think you must see we need to keep Corona cases right down..//

What on Earth makes you think that? But we don't see to be able to do so without inflicting considerable collateral damage. But that damage is now becoming far worse than the disease.
Er, am not the only one saying it. The goverment policy all allong as been to protect the NHS by making sure its not overran by to many corona cases. And more cases means more people off work ill as well as more hospitel beds. And it means more deaths which a think is not a good idea but a know you think a few more tens a thousand death's is just a drop in the ocean. May be you never payed much attention to the health proffesionals and politicians cos you know best a can see that.
I am willing to at least listen and consider all the things we are told to ref corona but the one thing I'm sick to the back teeth of is this line "The goverment policy all allong as been to protect the NHS by making sure its not overran by to many corona cases". Maybe that was true in some specific city areas but where I live and great swathes of the UK that has not been a necessity at all. My local hospitals have not been run over with anything, speak to any who work there and they will confirm how many wards are shut and empty because at the moment they won't take anyone unless its a dire emergency. Same for surgeries and dentists. That I find disgraceful, how many of us have had to suffer or worry about a health issue in the last 6 months and know the faff to even get through to someone makes suffering in silence preferable.
//Er, am not the only one saying anything.//

I wasn’t asking why you are saying it. I was asking why you think I should “…see we need to keep Corona cases right down.”

All of the effects of Covid are regrettable for all those who suffer from it and are not to be lightly dismissed as you seem to think I am doing. But you continually ignore all the points made by me and others. They are, in brief, that the measures being taken to keep Covid cases down are now clearly causing far more damage than Covid itself. It’s as if nothing else matters. But it does. The government cannot prevent the spread of the virus – it’s simply impossible. But in trying to do so far more damage is being visited on the economy, on businesses and on individuals. It’s not just a case of them being unable to stay in the pub after 10pm. People are actually dying from NHS neglect and they are dying in far greater numbers than those dying from Covid.

I heard a tale of when a General asks one of his Majors about how the battle was going:

“Did you manage to save the town from being captured by the enemy?”

“Oh yes sir,” said the Major “We simply blew it up along with everybody in it.”

It sounds stupid and it is. But that’s exactly what is happening now. You refuse to see it and simply plough on with your “Covid must be stopped” mantra. You seem to have no regard for any sufferers of anything else and their numbers are far greater than those suffering from Covid. This is not normal, logical thinking and I find it very disturbing.
'I find it very disturbing', So do I NJ.
