Who applied for positions in your area, pixie? Was it mostly white males, but they decided to give the jobs to all the females who applied? How many black/asian males applied for jobs? Or actually do apply for jobs?
If the majority of applicants are female, then, what do you expect?

I expect exactly that, clarion. Although it's a field that always always needs more people... so the "competition" is low, providing people don't completely mess up, themselves.
But other roles, like management, you may get a few who are all perfectly able and competent for one position. In that case, like everywhere else, it just comes down to our choice. And you don't necessarily know you have made the right one, for a couple of weeks.
The question is, "who" is making these choices, and on what basis? Unless we get computer algorithms to tell you who to hire.... there will always be an element of personal choice.
