"They are calling for protection to be focused on the vulnerable, while healthy people get on with their lives." - bang on.

How many times in the past has someone said to you and others, "I'll cancel that visit to yours. I've got a cold and don't want anyone to pass it on"? People have said that loads of times haven't they? They didn't need to be "socially distancing". They used common sense. And that's what should be happening now. Remove all restrictions, get back to "normal", and...

I wish, I'm healthy ( like many many others) but this taking away our liberties instead of focusing on those in society that are vulnerable, is very wrong imo
there was a thread on this yesterday, I think. The upshot was that "experts" weren't U-turning, some experts were disagreeing with others. Which, as you will agree, is how science progresses but it doesn't prove either group right
Who are these ‘ experts ‘ ?
The link - rather than just the title of the question - is worth reading...
Oh come off it Bobbi. (“ ...this taking away our liberties”)

We are a SOCIETY! We all have to obey laws and rules, just to get by.

What would you rather, total freedom and death?
Yes, it is welcome.
Allen, I'm no law breaker believe me but we are now in a 'local' lockdown and if you really do live in London you'll not know how that feels?
Just saying :0)
looks like your local lockdowns aren't even working, Bobbi

I don't really understand this.
It appears that way jno
This is the first sensible post that I have ever seen from TTT, out of the 3,552 he has made , well done , try and keep it up.
//Yes, it is welcome.//
can this be the same person who was castigating olds for their "I'm all right Jack" selfish attitude - - a few days ago ?

I think we should be told

or is it the attitude of Dom Cummings ( bless!) - rules are all very well for other people but I am going to test my eye sight!

always something new on AB
or as Pliny said ( yeah sozza omnes) semper aliquid novum ex africa
no I disagree
I make that 3,553

can this comment be called - on thread ?
Pretty sure some of us suggested just such measures back in March/April. But it may all be academic now anyway if this is to be taken seriously. Can't imagine that even this "newspaper" would make this up to create a headline.

From the link.

//The Health Secretary said the Government plans to follow the advice of the joint committee on vaccination and immunisation (JCVI).

Its interim guidance said care home residents and those working in the sector would be among the first to be treated.

Then over 80s and NHS staff would be next, followed by younger OAPs and high-risk Brits.

The JCVI said the "prioritisation could change substantially if the first available vaccines were not considered suitable for, or effective in, older adults".

This morning ex-Health Sec Jeremy Hunt said: "If I was a betting man, I'd say we'll find a vaccine before Christmas and get it to the bulk of the population by Easter."//
Did he really say "find" a vaccine? Not what he meant presumably.

And as we said yesterday, not a U turn, just an alternative view by others, which I think is very sensible, but I can't see being adpoted.
The Great Vaccination Plan is discussed here:
