A bit surprised that Trump's reference to his Proud Boys has gone uncommented in this columns.
Here is a taste of the 'leader' (Gavin McInnes)'s views:

Gavin McInnis (comedian) stepped down as leader of the Proud Boys at least 2 years ago when some of them were in court for daring to defend themselves against Antifa scum. He feared his acerbic brand of comedy might be used against them..

Well, as I (unlike the current potus, I suspect), really don't know anything about these Proud Boys, I took a moment to look up Gavin McInnis on wikipedia. Assuming the information is correct about him and the organisation, why the hell is anyone in their right mind supporting him? He appears to be an absolute scumbag.
