The Queen, Prince William and her entourage went on a visit today, nobody was wearing a face mask.Even the people she went to visit were not wearing one. Is it really one rule for them and another rule for us?

It is very sad that a piece of cloth covering th mouth and nose has been politicised.

The benefits of masks might have been exaggerated, but I cannot believe a claim they have no advantages at all.

Even if they are only 10% effective, then that is better than nothing.

POTUS has been belittling mask wearers for 7 months, until he got it and looked very foolish.
As I read the story, there was no need to wear masks. The audience took place in a well-ventilated marquee (effectively in the open air) and all attendees had been tested for several days previously. They also stood well away, more than 2m, from H.M. etc. and each other. The rule is 2m distancing without masks OR closer than that if wearing a mask, when it reduces to 1m (the 1+ rule). Well, it was last time I looked - could have changed of course.

I seem to remember the 1+ rule was introduced to give people confidence and get things moving. Totally counter-productive, as I think I am on record as saying, because all it did was make people more fearful and cause confusion.
For once I find myself agreeing with TTT.

As has been mentioned in Ab before, there being no spec for the masks, anything including a wide mesh will suffice, so it's just another of Boris The Clown's cunning stunts.
There is no hard evidence that 2 metres is sufficient, I passed today within 10 metres of a woman & could smell the fragrance of her perfume (rather nice actually!) I can smell tobacco smoke at much farther away than that. The virus is most effective airborne so it must be there in the air at longer distances than we are told, certainly beyond 2 metres.
A facemask might encourage the tongue-flicking that lizard people do but manage to contol for the most part when going about their everyday public life uncovered.
"should we storm the Palace Gates?"
Been reading Victor Hugo again, ML? :-)

oo I say more culture - I wd ask - has he been watching Eisenstein ? storming of the Winter Palace ( October ten days etc)

men who were really there were taken on as extras - actually on the night they just walked in - more being injured during the filming

yeah replay her maj on the remake of --- The Satan Bug!

Canary as you well know, a wide mesh is not acceptable, whatever is used has to completely cover the nose and mouth
