Far better than a carp deal.The French and Spanish are pirates of the sea with no regard for fish stocks. They just hoover up anthing. Just look in the fish markets in France and Spain. Small fish and crustaceans that should never be landed. The French just shrug and tell you it's a good size for bouillabaise

Brexit has worked. We're out. Whatever gives anyone the idea that it hasn't ?
Macron is clearly an idiot. The French made a major error voting him in. He fought for and got his no-deal agreement; and now he's in it up to his neck. Why he was so desperate to ensure that the French fishing industry received no licence to fish in UK waters, is anyone's guess. He can now be sidelined and ignored. He's played his part.

There are plenty of French who dislike the EU (and also Macron ) intensely, Jackdaw. Almost everyone we knew in fact, but that was France Profonde and, same as here, there is a city/country divide.
France was all set to reject joining the EEC (I think it was called that then, bit hazy, may have been later and called something else) until the votes came in from the departements outre-mers and that gave just a half a percent victory to joiners. I do remember that everyone moaned about it, again and again.
We all know that Macron only won because he wasn't either of the other candidates - and France does like to go on appearance (until someone like Sarkozy crosses the line into bling). He is in very deep erm, there must be a polite word, trouble. It is a deeply divided society. He thinks there is political capital to be made out of defending French fishermen etc..
Our politicians must, simply must tough it out. Very disturbed by Gove today talking about door being ajar. I wouldn't actually be hugely surprised if a big Frexit movement emerged - France is everything to most French, who have never travelled outside its boundaries - seriously.
