just because it's carried out by an Islamist doesn't make it a terror incident. Has it terrorised anyone?
It terrifies me.
jno: "Has it terrorised anyone? " - err chopping someone head off does not count as terror in jno land?
It was a terrorist attack. The perpetrator, an 18-year-old Muslim student, attacked and beheaded his teacher for showing cartoons of the prophet Mohamed during a civic history lesson. The teacher suggested any Muslim students who may be offended to leave the room, but a few stayed obviously to get horrifically offended and give them the excuse for this violence supposedly in the name of the Prophet.
It depends on your definition of a terrorist act. It seems unlikely it was a planned action from a terrorist group, but it is clearly designed to scare folk out of using their ancient teacher's image in a lesson about free expression; or anything else for that matter. It's part of a primitive unthinking lifestyle that has no place in a modern civilised society.
The French Code pénal (Criminal Code) defines terrorism as a number of listed acts – including intentional homicide, assault, kidnapping, hijacking, theft, extortion, property destruction, membership in an illegal armed group, digital crimes, forgery, and more – carried out with the goal of “seriously disturbing public order through intimidation or terror.

Think this particular crime ticks one or more of those boxes.

Jeesus H Christ on a crutch. This innocent victim had his head removed with a blade outside a school. You know the place surely. It's where children attend. Some probably might be affected for the rest of their lives by witnessing this.
Lots of members of his family have been arrested too, including parents and brother. Macron says it's a terrorist attack.
It was another appalling, cowardly murder.
Of course it was a terrorist attack. Pity he was killed though, would love to have seen him locked away for the rest of his stinking life!
They should refuse the family a Muslim burial and just cremate him. That in itself would be a deterrent against these lunatics dying for religious purposes and thinking they are going to Heaven with a regular supply of virgins.
I dunno what's so good about virgins. A group of experienced women In their 40s would be a better afterlife.
All of these terrorists attackers seem to have 1 characteristic in common. Isn't it about time we gave men a curfew, and i on ly let them out accompanied by a woman
Well, it is in Chatterbank...I guess I should expect nonsense.

( family taken to a concentration camp - well ho ho ho! as TTT might say)
// it's carried out by an Islamist doesn't make it a terror incident. Has it terrorised anyone?//

ours is wide - with a view to altering govt policy comes into it
bednobs, there's been much discussion of the matter among Muslim scholars; many think the promise is really of 72 raisins

https://globalnation.inquirer.net/163694/raisins-not-virgins-quran-scholars-say

I can foresee a lot of disappointed martyrs
//many think the promise is really of 72 raisins//

I guess they could make a spotted dick.

Peter Pedant - I'm sure Jesus will have a special place for each of us in heaven.
'' In my Fathers house .......... ''
It will feel like, well, erm, heaven.
The Google translation of the quote from PP does not mention a "concentration camp".

"The National Antiterrorist Prosecutor's Office (PNAT) announced that it had opened an investigation on grounds of assassination in connection with a terrorist enterprise and criminal terrorist association. Four people, including a minor, are placed in police custody, according to information from Agence France-Presse. They are part of the family circle of the attacker."
