I wonder myself if its all part of the Plan....gunslinger comes in...does the nasty stuff makes himself thoroughly unpopular and then is "kicked out" by wiser kinder PM and they all live happily ever after. Boris is no idiot, neither is he a genial buffoon. He is quite capable of playing a very long game indeed, even beyond his term of office. Anyone else think that Rishi Sunak is being protected from giving bad news? He is personable and so on...an ideal successor.
On the contrary.
I see Johnson as a weak leader over anxious to please and reward the people he sees as having got him into office. He’s been forced into this by wiser (female?) counsel.
As for Sunak I wouldn’t be surprise if No 10 were trying to shaft him with spending announcements. That doesn’t actually help the chancellor: it just makes him look silly
