I agree Tora, her hatred of the English is there for people to see and comes through our tv screens like talons

If u cant be arsed reading it:

"I come from partly English stock, my grandmother was English and I lead a party that is full of English people."
//You should be fighting to persuade the Scottish that the SNP is wrong to wish to leave//

Why? Scotland doesn’t do so badly from the rest of us - and the Scots voted for Sturgeon and her motley crew so I guess that's who they want. With them at the helm, yes, devolution is a disaster - for the people of Scotland.
Scotland leaving would have a huge effect. There are more than economic factors at play here, too. If Scotland does end up wishing to leave, then let them, but maybe try harder to preserve the U of the UK for a change.
> If Scotland left the union, exactly what effect would that have on the rest of the UK?

It wouldn't be the UK. Substitute any English region into the above sentence in place of Scotland, e.g. Yorkshire and the Humber has a similar-sized population and economy to Scotland ...

> If Yorkshire and the Humber left the union, exactly what effect would that have on the rest of the UK?

They need us more than we need them? They are us, and we are them. If parts go, you lose the whole.

It is disappointing to see how many voters for the Conservative and Unionist Party are dismissive of the Union.
Jim then maybe getting rid of an English hating leader ( no matter her denials) would be a step in in that direction?
"If parts go, you lose the whole."

Thats the EU knackered then ;-)
We are a small island. Growing more insignificant globally. As an island we should unite all peoples of our land. Devolution equals division. Separate fiefdoms is our past not our future. England, Scotland, Wales as one, sharing in prosperity and adversity. Unite Ireland also.
Geographic lines on maps cause descention.
Like I say, stop confusing England for Westminster.
//..maybe try harder to preserve the U of the UK for a change. //

What does that mean? I've not noticed anyone else complaining.
//It is disappointing to see how many voters for the Conservative and Unionist Party are dismissive of the Union.//

Well, I'm neither of those things. All I mean is that if the Scots want their independence, it wouldn't be the end of the world. I'm sure there are some here that would delight in Scotland struggling if they left the union, I'm not one of them either. If they want to go, let them do so on good terms, I don't think either country will sink without the other.
09.33. This deserves B A .best giggle I’ve had on AB for a while .Beware...... If Nicola is on your TV. DUCK. ,!!!!

"turn off the Contrarian gene for once TCL, a blind man can see her seething hatred."

Post some examples if it's that obvious.
Asquith actually you're a prime example on here of what we're talking about but I must have done something right to make you giggle ;)
A prime example of what ?
i think that many in England don't even understand what Sturgeon stands for, and that many Scots don't want Independence.
Being anti English
‘ being anti English’ what evidence do you have Bobbie? I don’t mind waiting .
Clever move AA but not being led into a dalliance on here so you may wait all day :0)))
ENGLAND votes to leave the EU - Scotland want to stay. England get their own way.
SCOTLAND wants to break free from England. Westminster don't want it. England gets their own way?
Discuss
Thought not.
