Any QAnon supporters on here yet?

A link..

https://www.newstatesman.com/world/2020/11/how-qanon-conspiracy-theorists-marjorie-taylor-greene-lauren-boebert-trump-alt-right-entered-us-congress

And a description of their loony tunes:

QAnon could be described as one of the most far-fetched conspiracy theories in modern history. It argues that a group of Satanic paedophiles, mostly made up of Democrats and Democrat-supporting celebrities, is running a global child-trafficking ring – and that Trump is using the power of the US government to fight them.

Lummy. And I thought Answerbank was bad.

It is utterly potty. But a majority of Republicans in the USA believe it. That's the level of mad you have to be in order to back Trump.

It's most ungentlemanly to discuss someone's health as if they weren't in the room, rude even.
"rude even." - yes that's PP all over.

that's what happens when you try and do something about PP.
22.07 , Gigantic POT & KETTLE.
Human beings seem to have an innate need to believe in stupid tishe for which there's no evidence. It makes us feel secure, because at least someone's controlling things - even if they're malevolent, it's still better than having to face the reality that everything is just random and purposeless.

That's what conspiracy theories are, religion for the internet age. The followers have the same belief that they are the enlightened ones and everyone else needs to wake up and become similarly enlightened.

//Who was it who said that once you believed in nothing, the danger is you’ll believe in ANYTHING.//

The quote is: “When men choose not to believe in God, they do not thereafter believe in nothing, they then become capable of believing in anything.” - usually attributed to G K Chesterton - but whoever said it, it’s abject nonsense.
//whoever said it, it’s abject nonsense.//

I agree.
That quote is actually most relevant. Chesterton's was about God, but it works for other things.
It is precisely how, for example, Russian state media works:
if you make "truth" relative, you are basically saying there is no truth, and once you let that poison into the system you prepare people to accept the fake news of your choice.
The scary thing about Qanon is that it has mainstream Republican adherents. There were several Republican candidates in the election who openly supported the conspiracy.

Not so sure, tomus. Chesterton was usually wrong, but in this case... well, look around you. People believing in absolutely ANYTHING!
