allen - // He was a poor leader, far too soft on fighting the vicious conspiracy from all sides which falsely painted him and the labour movement antisemitic. //
I believe you are giving Corbyn too much leeway - it;s this sort of thinking that stokes his burning martyr persona which he as adopted since the election, and his supporters love to encourage as the reason why things are the way they are.
Corbyn was, and is, no-one's shrinking violet, he knew what was happening, and he took steps to prevent it from stopping, and he stood aside when people were mistreated, and that is unforgiveable.
// We were there at Cable Street fighting for the British Jews! Where was the right wing then? On the other side, that’s where! //
The Battle Of Cable Street was in 1936, and Corbyn's problem is, he honestly believes we are still there in terms of political attitudes, and voters' loyalties.
The absence of reality he lives in is a huge reason why he was unelectable when he was chosen as leader, and delightedly became more and more so as time went on.
