Nothing like a couple of old has been to protest against wearing a mask et al to get their faces back in the media is there?
Question Author
TBF I watched the interview on sky news and I was expecting a couple of clueless pop stars but I was surprised by their awareness and arguments. They made some very good points.
They're right. Living like hermits is killing the country.
I agree with them, obviously!
Some scientists are now saying that wearing masks is not preventing the spread of the virus. Are we now going to be told that we need not wear them?
I think I'm too sexy, therefore I am.
I don't doubt it Tora, probably high up in the intelligence stakes but I've no time for them pontificating not wearing a mask etc although I agree about us living like hermits isn't good for us
They come across as two sensible chaps with a valid argument. Not saying i agree with everything they say, but there is some truth in much of it. Particularly on the effectiveness of masks the general public are wearing.
""We should never allow ourselves to get into a situation where speech becomes an issue - unless it's hate speech."

"You can't say, 'I believe in free speech but you can't say what you want to say'. It's not conditional."

Which is it then?
The wearing of a mask is and always has been a contentious issue in reducing the spread of the virus.
Fine, well played Dick and Fred, nothing new about letting the virus run free to save the economy, that has a lot of support, but that isn't the road that the UK GOVERNMENT has taken.
"Living like hermits is killing the country

Yep,its making people crabby
"Plus hardly more deaths this October than last" there were eight more than last year but you missed off the fact it was 5% higher than average.
Not important. If 8 is the difference between a month in a non-cov year and a cov one, the point is made that the fuss generated, and the associated resonse, is excessive.

One of the reasons we're forced to wear masks is that so many people were saying "why aren't we required to wear masks?" The govt with its PR hat on caved, despite the experts not really having much evidence to support their use (other than in medical situations).
probably would not say it, if they caught the virus and were on life support.. Que Sera Sera.
I wonder how Peter Noone manages it!! :-)
if they'd said the opposite, people would be asking why luvvies and has-beens should think their views are important.
The Fairbrass Brothers took the AIDS Virus very seriously. I suppose they are now old men, and their resolve has weakened.
Their views aren't important, or, more accurately more important that any other sensible individual. No less important either. I don't think they are held in such celeb awe any more that their status adds anything.
