Matt Hancock says people must take time off from work when they're sick.

He's so out of touch he doesn't realise that many Employers exercise disciplinary procedures when employees take time off sick, and also many of them don't provide sick pay. But of course you wouldn't expect a Tory Toff to understand that.

There are people who don't get sick pay but you'd have to be incredibly selfish to go in to work if you think it's a possibility that you have Covid (which I'm guessing was his point) or even Flu.
He does and says so many stupid things, we don't have to get worked up about nothing. (which is what this is, imo)
they just hate the Tories.
no matter who it is.
Most likely another touch of bird 'flu.
Well can't disagree with the statement Hancock is out of touch but I'm not sure he qualifies as a 'Toff'.

He clearly doesnt understand how companies work and definitely not the self employed but I think from his and SAGES's actions we knew this already (Not that Sir Kier and his crowd seem to understand any better), One would think, as an ex analytical economist for the BoE he would!
As a side note maybe he should contact the HR departments in the NHS as they have been clamping down on sick time over the last few years. Time off for colds is now very much frowned on!
anyone who is a tory is a toff, didn't you know that....

Aye? Up here they are all bawbags
so you can speak for all Scots can you.
Aye, why not
i was making a point that the left wingers on here consider all tories as toffs, a generalisation if ever there was one.
Not far wrong, sadly, Emmie.
Seem to consist of public schoolboys doling out jobs to other public schoolboys.
Very short on conservative values too. imo.
don't you believe it spicy.
Aye, just like your point
there is such a divide over class in this country, shame that it clouds people's judgement.
Just the word 'toff' is like a throwback to the dark ages. I would ask who really is out of touch - but I know - and it's not the Tories.
If we had had a conservative government in the last 10 years, the cabinet office wouldn't be attending Critical Race Theory courses. The Foreign Office wouldn't have Muslim prayers every morning before 'work' starts.
The police wouldn't kneel before BLM 'protestors' when not running away from them. And there wouldn't be 9,000 of them scouring the internet for wrong thought every day.
I could bang on like this all day but I'm sure you get the idea.
Instead of reversing the corruption of all our institutions that Labour brought in, they've just doubled down on it.
^ Excellent!
In short, we need a Trump(never happen) or a Farage (might) to make this a decent country with values and give people their pride(not that lot) back.
who did you vote for?
