I was never a fan of Thatcher, but a statue of her in Grantham, which as I said before is Dullsville, seems like a perfectly natural idea.

Well I'm sure there are people who are against it, hardly surprising really.
You wouldn't erect one in S Yorkshire for example (and probably not in Ted Heath's home town!) but in her place of birth ...
I'm not comparibng Mrs T to Stalin, but he has a statue in his home town (and a museum) and the locals there are very proud of it. Despite not being Stalinists.
i can't ever remember going to Grantham, but was up in that neck of the woods years ago. I think its a good thing to do, but realise that there is a lot of opposition too
