this year's mayoralty election had to be postponed.

There was some talk of making outer London Tier 3 and leaving the centre Tier 2, but that may have been just someone flying a kite.

The mayoral and Assembly elections were originally due to be held on 7 May 2020, but in March 2020 it was announced the election would be postponed until 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with the next election to be held in 2024.

no bobbi he won't by all accounts. You simply can't police people in their own homes, they can safe distance rugby, football matches, weddings and funerals, but ordinary joe public will in all likelyhood go about their daily business,

chances is that Khan will get in again, he has a large following, i am not one of them. There is little known opposition, no one who has taken the mantle and shone.

ILM many people will do as they see fit, whether in London, Manchester Newcastle or Scotland, no amount of putting people into tiers will alter that fact. Most on this site seem as though they are adhering to the guidelines, many won't. I see people without masks and those with, you can't not be in close proximity if you are shopping, especially at this time of the year.

London can be put in tier 3, with 8 million souls some are just going to not bother with the guidelines.

The Government said the tiers would be reviewed on the 16th. Not sure they will make an announcement today, but London’s figures are very bad and have deteriorated vastly in the last fortnight.

Khan was up for re-election this summer, but the poll was delayed a year due to covid. Anyhow, none of this is up to Khan so your anger at him is misplaced.

To return to the OP. I agree brainiac.. 5 days of relaxation over the Xmas period will ensure the NHS will be overwhelmed in January .
