It's called business, Canary. It's what businessmen do. When they see their trade interrupted by either the activity or inactivity of politicians they find alternatives. I doubt this "airlift" was done simply out of the kindness of anybody's hearts. It would also be nice if you stopped continually referring to those who voted to leave as xenophobes.
What other reason could have caused people to vote Leave? A belief that the EU was heading for a European super-state, owned and controlled by Germany, a desire to trade and restore relationships with other countries, including the Commonwealth, disgust at the way it had treated members such as Greece, Italy and Spain?
So are they giving us this for nothing as an act of charity? Of course not they are a business! Gets the award for the most misleading headline of the year.
^Yep, you're right the media are creating more panic than need be. Aldi have big expansion plans for the UK, already in progress their not going to let the French disrupt, or anyone else.
Several supermarkets are mentioned ...emmie, you can't grow many things in this country in winter.
"Sparce supermarket shelves"...really? I've just come from Waitrose -fully stocked and no queues to get in or out.
Yes emmie you're add is correct, and Aldi are hoping to get more from the British famer, were other supermarkets have gone abroad, hence the panic of shortage at the moment with lorries stuck in traffic.
