It's quite understandable that a register of those refusing the vaccine should be kept and maintained for the benefit of the whole world. Lets hope all other nations follow suit.

It’s one thing having a record of people who HAVE had it.
But a record not of those who haven’t (which presumably is the same thing) but have refused: well, I can’t think of any good use that could be put to. And how would you tell the difference between people who “refused” and people who for whatever reason simply hadn’t?

how will anyone know who has refused explicitly, unless of course they have actually said “I refuse”
More importantly, to come back to the original objection: what would be the point anyway?
There’s two reasons why people should have it: firstly to stop themselves getting ill and ultimately to stop the spread of the thing, but as previously stated you can in the meantime still be carrying the virus so you won’t necessarily be less of a risk to other people. And when the thing is declining then it’s hard also to see how it’ll matter.
You may just as well make the vaccination compulsory and have done with it. Then you could criminalise people more openly rather than Koko’s little list :-)

The only way I think it could possibly be policed would be if a question is included in the API details that you input before flying. Don't know what would happen on other forms of transport. API is only to track if someone is on a no fly list for terrorism reasons. Another issue is that when people travel these days, most of check in and bag drop and now boarding is self service. Which would leave it up to the arrival destination to police it.

Compulsory vaccination is undesirable and damn near impossible in any civilised society - full stop.

But you don't need the Government to impose restrictions in order to improve vaccine take-up - market forces and the reaction of businesses to them will do the job quite well.

I wouldn't want to be in the confined environment of a full aeroplane with even a few refuseniks on board - so any airline that requires proof of vaccination will get my business - and that of many others too. Watch QANTAS in the next few weeks to see how airlines will start to require vaccine data as well as negative tests.

On a more prosaic level, if I'd had the vaccine and Aldi had a 'vaccinated shoppers only' policy for certain hours/days, then I'd shop at those times - if that was so popular that it expanded and pushed the unvaccinated into a few unsocial slots, then that is market forces, my friend ...

ich: 13:01, well they'll be offered the vaccine and presumabnly if they do not make an appointment after several attempts then they'll be deemed a refuser. My GP has already sent out texts telling us to expect our vaccination appointment and be ready to respond. Anyway the OP is referring to Spain, no idea what we'll do at the moment but I do think that the world will see this as a permanent issue that we must fight together so expect more and more clamping down internationally as time goes by.
