It's quite understandable that a register of those refusing the vaccine should be kept and maintained for the benefit of the whole world. Lets hope all other nations follow suit.

The certificate and a database would police it. I don’t think anyone is saying it would be perfect (no system ever is) but it would go a long way to getting the R rate down and the world’s economy up.

It has to be the fairly near future, Tora.
Its most likely use will be air travel rather than bus travel and maybe in time thing's like getting a job or even entering some venues like indoor concerts

emmie: what about the civil liberties of the general public? The right not to be infected by diseased morons?
i just don't see it working at all.

ZM yes but we'll have to wait at least until everyone has had a chance to have the vaccine.
what about those coming into UK, as has happened where they have brought it in, are we going to test everyone?
For foreign travel would there, could there be a way of entering it on your passport ? I know that sounds a bit far fetched but carrying a card like the one you get after the vaccine ,would be open to abuse and copying just like the exemption and over 18s ones have been, just a thought , furthermore I can understand other countries not wanting to take risks of people coming in who may carry the virus with them
Can QR codes not be copied?
I’d say it could kick in at 50%. Businesses and air travel would then be able to trade with very little risk.
I bet that there will be stink if this is introduced, can't see it happening at all
Bobbi, 1) not everyone has a passport. 2) it would be an admin nightmare as passports would have to be sent off and returned.
Possibly, ttt... it's why I said "as far as it goes"... the BBC are not great at reporting though. In healthcare, you aren't supposed to say "refused" "rejected" for an option, but "declined". Sounds the same on the surface maybe, but it really isn't. It makes me doubt them, when they word things in a biased way.
emmie, my guess is we're a net exporter of covid rather than an importer, but yes theres a case for saying no vacc no entry/no flying out.
Dinghys and hidden in lorries excepted of course

emmie: "what about those coming into UK, as has happened where they have brought it in, are we going to test everyone? " - if all buy in to this then they wont be flying. Ok it needs cooperation but no one wants the virus to continue so the world has to make an effort. Why are you so against this? why so negative? not a THB are you?
Then they wouldn't be travelling to another country Zac? Yes indeed it would be a logistical nightmare , I agree but I think I'd rather see that then having my details on a world wide data base
thousand have come to the country illegally, over a period of time, how do we know they aren't carriers, or that once let into the community they won't just disappear and be under the radar of the authorities. They won't be getting the vaccine if they don't have a doctor
//The right not to be infected by diseased morons?\\
If the non-morons have been vaccinated they'll be immune anyway, so where's the problem?

Funny, I never had TTT down as a supporter of USSR and EUSSR-style tactics.
If you have a passport and have used it anytime in the last 10 years then it will already be on a worldwide database. Admittedly without any health info but I personally wouldn’t mind at all if it means the world can start to return to normal.
have no idea what THB is. Negative because its not remotely possible to have this done. If i get the vaccine it means what a card carrying onto every bus, train, show who, would staff check,

TCL: "Can QR codes not be copied? " - yes as can £5 notes, driving licences, anything, fraud will be punished as now. No doubt there will be a criminal attempts to surpass. The same techniques will be employed as they now do for spotting CC fraud etc.
