One thing I would seriously consider is stopping the sale of alcohol. Sorry to all the responsible drinkers but it is linked to a reduction in normal responsible behaviour, people get closer, more touchy feely, its the reason large groups are still gathering. It would need serious restriction and checks on the local stores with off licences as part of the...
There needs to be a full lockdown non essential shops closed, restrictions on exercise to 1 hour no meeting up with anyone outside your home.
I know it’s not going to be popular but it’s what is needed.
i would be amazed that many are following the laws to start with, tougher laws, shut schools what then, or more importantly for how long, will that contain this virus, probably not -
Probably not but I was down the country park earlier and the mixing go on was ridiculous!
If they are serious about beating this, lock it down to essentially shop for groceries exercise and medical visits. Obviously nurses etc still need to do their visits but the rest don’t need to be out and about
in tier 4 one can meet only 1 person as it is outside the home, going on all the posts over CHristmas and NYE that obviously isn't working for many. Shopping centres were bustling and NYE in London and some other places there were stacks of people celebrating. Bobbi you posted about where you live, and it was heaving with shoppers?
He should have done this when it was going out of control Emmie, I doubt it will effect us here ( home) we stick rigidly to the rules anyway by not going anywhere
Absolutely it was Emmie same as the coastal areas, people buying their booze at supermarkets at drinking in the street as well as peeing in them because there was no toilets
Well I can only speak for what I personally know. MIL and her gang of cronies ante waltzing around enjoying meet ups and coffees, church visits etc and the bubbles get bigger every time we speak to her.
When we point out how wrong it is her response is they are fed up hiding away.
Bobbi no answer other than this lockdowns doesn;t seem to be working - on ab perhaps where people are of an age to see the dangers, and stick by the laws. But its obvious to me that many are not sticking by these tier 4 rules, laws.
///That’s interesting Bobbi because the costal town by family live in Norfolk has been very quiet apart from the elderly wandering about//
That's called exercising MM.
We should've had a nationwide lockdown as soon as the number of cases started rising rather than faff around with tiers. There is a huge difference in number of new cases recorded each day compared with other European countries.
My daughter or son in law shops for us although I'm pretty angry with a friend of mine who called last week ( hallway ) as she owed me money for something I got for her on Amazon, first words were "I think I'm getting a cold" I said ' oh great so you've came here to let me know that?
She I'm afraid , is one of those who aren't taking it seriously
