Did Boris say if schools are open tomorrow?? When do they close?? Also what about people coming into the country from abroad by air etc? Do they get tested when they come in? Everyone should have to wear a mask in the street like in Spain or get arrested.

whether there ends up being a sunset clause on the lockdown (and when it expires) will probably be up to parliament.
ROY, I don't keep stats but feel free to trawl through all 18,064 previous answers and enlighten us.
roy: "What percent of your replies (to all threads) do you think have anything to do with the actual threads you take part in TCL? " - PMSL! BA right there!
TCL exist only to be the contrarian; Mr Na Na NaNa Na
Just watched a playback .(after choosing to watch a programme about Cornwall instead when it was "live") Are we seriously saying that there are people who can put a few words together on here, but cannot comprehend a pretty clear message that says "stay home and stop spreading this chite until we can get a vaccine into you"? Or are we saying that the deliberately thick are setting the agenda and tone for all future messages? The first line of this post for instance asked "are schools open tomorrow"? Schools where? In England? Scotland? Wales? Greenland? If Boris says schools are open and the teachers say no, blame Boris? If Boris says no and the local authorities or devolved nations say yes, blame Boris. Time to get over yourselves or shush.
Agree Togo, it was very clear.
Well said Togo.
yes togs, clearly smurf was struggling but has now dissappeared it seems!
Once again it will be interesting to see the legislation (as opposed to the hastily drafted "guidance" which has been provided. In particular this bit:

"You can only leave your home to exercise, and not for the purpose of recreation or leisure (e.g. a picnic or a social meeting). This should be limited to once per day, and you should not travel outside your local area."

I wonder whether the two "shoulds" will be mentioned at all. If they are I wonder whether they will remain as "should" or "must". I wonder how my "local area" is defined?
I wonder what it's like to live in a world where contractions, abbreviations and initials are the main mode of communication.

Judge you have my permission, nay insistence, to have a picnic on any of the park recreation areas in your manor. Please take as many of the moaners, that appear to proliferate in times of uncertainty, that you can gather around you and be careful how you all cross the road on the way.

P.S. I must confess I did not mean the last bit.
I quite like F.O Douglas. It means Foreign Office as well :))

What Boris said was very clear.

I nodded in agreement when Keir Starmer first said it last Friday.
Why not let Sir Keir run the country as he seems to have far more foresight than the present PM?
We had the first Lockdown in March, and by the middle of June new cases were virtually nil and our R number was about 0.5.
After that something went very very badly wrong. Today we see 700+ new cases a day.
No reason at all why people should wear masks outside as far as I can see - there is, as far as I can discover, not one confirmed case of transmission outside given normal social distancing. (Footballers and others of their ilk hugging each other are not counted in this, I'm talking about normal life.)
^^^^ OH has had it confirmed that he should attend tomorrow for his 2nd vaccination. I'm worried about reaction, given the rash, but he will ask them. Given that, after a few days, he should be virus-proof can anyone give me a sensible reason why he should be confined indoors for the greater part of his time? Not as if he's going to raves, parties, pubs or any social gatherings. Seems totally stupid to me.
diddly: "Why not let Sir Keir run the country as he seems to have far more foresight than the present PM? " - all he has to do is win a general election! ooo hang on, real Labour last won one of those in 1974! PMSL! He has no chance, especially now that Boris is surging:
