Hmmm. The border is 1,954 miles long. The length of the wall is expected to reach 475 miles by the end of Trump's presidency. Perhaps the phrase 'a slight gap in credibility' is appropriate here?

The last few weeks have been like an episode of Black Mirror.
Danny never mentioned it ..

The sad thing is there will be thousands of people who beleive Trumps ramblings.
//The border is 1,954 miles long.// But it isn't all land
>>> But it isn't all land

The wall was intended to run along the northern shores of the Rio Grande though and, indeed, that's where much of it has been built, causing immense environmental damage in the process

'We're going to build a wall', he said. Didn't happen. Curious that a few ABers seem to want to defend him. He's a 24-carat fruitcake. One of his last acts as President is to visit a small section of a wall that was never fully built. Barking.
Chris, Re. that Guardian's, "incredible scar": If you've ever flown about in that part of the USA & realised just how big & barren vast parts of Texas & New Mexico is, this "scar" is really insignificant, Showing clos-up photographs of it is nonsense.
Trump's delusions notwithstanding, the US-Mexico border is a very humbling experience. Once you have got through customs, you can walk across the bridge into Mexico in about 30 seconds. In half a minute the whole world changes from opulence to rows of begging children. We were advised to keep on walking until we got out of the border area and into Tijuana proper.
He’s right.
All that he will ever build has been built. Let’s hope the same applies to all the things he’s knocked down.
// there will be thousands of people who believe Trumps ramblings.//

and they are not all in AB - ter daah !

Wouldn't it be rather fun if Biden stopped building the wall, came to a sensible accommodation with 'illegal' immigrants (like they have in California) and gave them citizenship, and then helped broker a sensible deal with those countries from whom the immigrants are coming from?
When I was in the States once, after watching Mexicans floating across the Rio Grand river thought we would take a look. Halfway across bridge decided it was a bad idea as car would not be insured so decided to turn around, trying to get past American border control was a long experience, he was convinced we had picked up something elicit. Strange thing about the bridge was that there was a metal strip half way across marking the border, the American side was perfect tarmac, the Mexican side was not much better than gravel.
walked across the border at Nogales some years ago. Quite a few Americans (US type) there, whole busloads of OAPS, in fact, looking for drugs - the legal kind but cheaper than at home.
Last time I checked, there had been 15 miles of NEW wall. The rest were repairs to existing wall.
And nearly all of it is fence rather than wall.
Sorry Paigntonian @ 16.08 but I object to you awarding Trump with my well earned title. Regarding the wall, I would like to see one round him, with bars for windows and doors
That may come teacake in the fullness of time, we will have to wait and see.
//Barking //

nah. Basildon at least. Maybe even Leigh on Sea.
Do you mind! I live in Leigh-on-Sea!
We'll miss him when he's gone. Nothing to laugh at.
