foo he should join AB
that wd make him look sane !
the comparison is not there but I suppose all of you are too young to recollect - the daughter went around the country making speeches including " my father is not a crook!"
He spent up to 95% of each day discussing how he cd lie out of the watergate affair but the country was not badly governed hem hem
Kissinger went on being K and history has not judged him
He did have
[God I have just heard Doug "The Speeg" Spiegenhalter say "I dont know the answer to that" on teevee - how times change]
...... have policies which were carried out
Complete contrast to Trump who just seems to hae stopped governing.

If he’s mad at being compared with Nixon, think how Nixon must feel up there being compared with Trump ...
A solution to this might be for Biden or the senate to pardon him but hold a separate vote, which they have to do anyway, to ban him from future office. Tho how much sense that would make if he’d been pardoned I’m not sure.

thing was
very early on Nixon knew he had done it
I think Trump thinks he really won the election
and that the capitol crowd really were putting the rightful fella into office ( That wd be Trump as the rightful one ) of course
It reminds me as a classicist
of the Play Bacchae - where the women have torn the son of the King to bits ( yeah bit gory yeah?) - at their bacchanalia
and then in the final scene come to their senses

oh god who hasnt got english o level
there is this long written document inAmericxa somewhere called the Consitution. And some people read it. and in it there is written
n the United States, the pardon power for offenses against the United States is granted to the President of the United States under Article II, Section 2 of the United States Constitution which states that the President "shall have power to grant reprieves and pardons for offenses against the United States, except in cases of impeachment".
and the final sentence says "xc in cases of impeachment"
I conclude therefore that the president cannot be pardoned in a charge of impeachment
the end
Jesus - anyone else out there who cant read?

Oh you mean the Bacchae
There is a greek play written in greek
It is called the Bacchae
It was written a long time ago
The author has a name like a shipping magnate - Phoo-pides or something
In the plot they rip a young man to bits thinking it is a fawn
then they wake up and say 'oops I dont think we should have done that!"
but it is too late!
the end
In america they had a riot
then the next day when they all lost their jobs and got arrested they said, that didnt look like a good idea after all
it is not the end
I thought the two were comparable

// Don't know if it's true but I was told that Trump can pardon himself for any misdemeanors he committed in the White House.//
no what we do is read this
Section 2 of the United States Constitution which states that the President "shall have power to grant reprieves and pardons for offenses against the United States, except in cases of impeachment".
and see that he may not be able to do so
and if we think "that is moot" we have to bear in mind that moot means "already decided" and not to be further discussed
and 'moot' in england means the very opposite
funny but true
we can all read, but alot of us seem not to
