If she is going to hold a referendum she should be prepared to lay out for the Scottish population what it would mean if she was successful. For example how would she fund the Health Service, Police and emergency services. Where would the money come from for her to continue offer free prescriptions and University places. There are many other things that should...

TTT, see my sentence " ... like ...sovereign country..." i.e., the same way others do, including the UK - by taxing its population. Simples.
18.11 ,Thats the Dumbest, Unhinged, most Deluded answer, that has ever been posted on on A/B in history,

yeah but taxing 5.4m people ain't enough to pay for all that. They have so much infrastructure they take for granted that will need replacing that they'll get a shock, Then there's the Barnett formula. As soon as they hear how their bow locks will be levied off they'll burger off to England leaving those behind to pay even more.

get used to at least 10 more years of Boris Gully!

Oh Karl and then of course is the subs to EUSSR, almost forgot.
//To be fair to Ms Sturgeon - she feels that the circumstances under which the initial reforendum was held - with Scotland as part of the EU - have now changed, and she argues that Scotland is now not in the EU against the will of the majority of the population, and she feels that a new reforendum would clarify that fact.

She may or may not be correct in that assessment,....//

She's not correct, Andy. (see my post @16:55). When the Scots voted to remain in the UK in 2014 they knew (or should have known) that there was a very good chance that the UK would leave the EU. They should have factored that in when they voted.
You will be happy to know that 300,000 SNP supporters voted for Brexit,Tora.I wonder if Nicola knows?

och nooo! she'll have their goolies in the blender!
Not all of them were male,by the way!
Once again we have the ‘( experts) ‘ on Scottish politics on AB again. Knock yourselves out. TTT and some others seem to have an unhealthy interest in Nicola Sturgeon though. :-). Carry on .
// they have so much infrastructure they take for granted //

here's just one - the railways. this paper was published before the last referendum and although the situation now is slightly different (with operating contracts rather than franchises), the issues facing an independent Scotland are pretty much the same.

I think you are using the benefit of hindsight there.

As I recall, the result was always going to be very close - as indeed it turned out to be, so the notion that 'they knew there was a very good chance that the UK would leave the EU' is actually not accurate.
Hello,Anne.Where about do you live?
Y, . I live in Scotland , otherwise I would have no interest in this thread , about NS .
