Our national achievements have always been fantastic.
So many people berate us for our chequered history, without comparing us to other countries, and seeing how we fare.
For example Prof Kehinde Andrews, head of Black Studies, Birmingham University, considers racism in everything. Our flag, our colonial past, the structure and culture of our society.
But his freedom to be so critical was paid for in blood.
Short answer, yes.

Absolutely. I chose to return to the UK with my OH to take over his family farm. But I would have been better off in every respect had we stayed in Canada. Everything is miles better than the UK which has now become politically correct joke.

Every single country of the world has people living there who are fond, even proud, of it and have no great desire to live anywhere else - they are content with the accident of birth. On many counts, nearly all of these countries are measurably not close to being the best, the UK included. Witnessing people beating their chests in full view of (pointing to ?) the failures is at very least embarrassing.
